We have footings! Of course just in time for the cold weather and frost, but that is nothing Jeff, my Grandpa and some straw can't fix. Today, they will be setting the wall forms and Wednesday they will pour the actual basement walls!
We ordered the kitchen hood and decided to go with the simple straight line design, without carvings. They were priced the same so saving money wasn't apart of the decision, which made it that much harder. We reasoned down to the kitchen having straight somewhat modern cabinets and adding a carving at the focal point with the brick would just be too much.
We expect to have the drawings back for the cabinets on Wednesday and will start framing the house on Monday; since thanksgiving is Thursday. Things are moving right along!
